Help with identification please-Morphed into How many Males for Females a ratio guide.

Last year I had one male with two geese, and one male with 3 geese.
The two geese produced, and two of the three geese produced, but both the ganders stuck with their favourite Mrs while the other had to cope with goslings being stolen by the gander and taken to the favourite goose, and with the other gander, the two extra females just kept together and raised the goslings of the one female (other produced nothing) independently of the male who just wanted his favourite Mrs (oh, he wanted all the babies, of course, so I fenced them off so he couldn´t steal them). This year I´ve decided to keep them all in pairs except for two geese with one gander, as I´m doing an experiment on colour with those ones. They´ll be fine if they don´t share a nest, being sisters, so I´ll just keep an eye on them.
So, short version is: One gander will probably do, but you´re more likely to get success with more.

And that´ll be in the second year, too, when they´re more sensible and breedable in general.

Can you remove the gander after all the babies are born and let the ladies do the baby rearing as a community?

There´s not much point, as he looks after them well. If you really don´t want two ganders, then leave him with them, and it may all be ok, or one or two subordinate females may lose their goslings to the favourite goose...or not....see what happens. If it doesn´t go well for them then the following year you can always get another gander. But don´t forget, the first breeding year often is a tricky one, not one to judge by, really. Fertility can be hit-n-miss, the eggs are smaller, and they may share a nest, which can result in lost goslings before or after hatch. See how they go in the second year, then think about what you need to do.

Thanks everyone for the words of wisdom and advice. I'm sure by next year I will have this all sorted out and will want another male. For now, I want to get this angel wing under control before I place the ones I have. I unwrapped it last night after about 3 days and it looks a little better, but the longest feathers coming in are still sticking out. So it's re-wrap for him and more handfuls of peas as a reward.

I have four female African Toulouse mix how many males to I need to get for them to all produce fertile eggs

Howdy louisiana and welcome to the thread. Based on what these folks have told me, I could use another male for my 3 girls. If it weren't too late to add to my order, I'd likely add another male :)
