New breed ‘No crow roosters’

One thing that's bothering me about the whole concept is why breeding a crowless rooster has not been done before. Roosters crowing has been the source of contention forever; way before city ordinances and HOA rules. People gotta sleep, you know, so a crowless rooster may have been as deisirable in ancient Rome as it is today. With all the modifications that make up the modern chicken, I think that if it was possible to breed the crow out of them then someone would have already done it.
maybe they should breed a dog that doesnt bark. oh thats right even in the city a dog barks and thats ok but not a rooster crowing. so glad i live somewhere that i can hear crowing every morning. i got 13 of them

There's more than one reason to enjoy having a rooster that doesn't crow. And all of them don't stem from living in a non-rural environment. Severely autistic children, for example, may be sensitive to loud noises. I'm sure they would appreciate being able to enjoy the chickens without the startling and often upsetting noises.

Oh boo hoo. You earned that trophy

Natural red junglefowl are very quiet and the males have short, soft, musical crows in which various notes can be heard. It's beautiful to experience junglefowl crowing

It's terrible that humans have bred such beautiful creatures into loud, screaming, honking things. Humans have even bred long-crowers that scream until they fall over

It should be entirely possible to breed them to be quiet again, perhaps even quieter than their ancestors

I would love to have a quiet (bantam) rooster . Bc it would mean my neighbours wouldn’t complain and I finally could keep a rooster with my ladies.

Red Junglefowl.

Red Junglefowl.
No offense but there's a huge range of purity in what people call Red Junglefowl out there. My own RJF rooster many years ago was of questionable purity, however he sounded quite similar to the RJF in this video-
In a general sense I believe RJF are supposed to look thin and scraggly like this image here, and the more beefy they get the more domestic chicken DNA they're filled with-
