I know she is going to be a heavy but I have no idea what she is....She was given to me in exchange for a roo that was supposed to be a pullet. The person I got her from said she was thrown into a large order that he got from McMurray....Any help is appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

How old is he???
Thats right I said he....LOL

Appears you got yourself another Roo. Normally when a Hatchery throws in extras it is for warmth for the ones that were ordered and it is usually Roos that are thrown in for that warmth.

Geesh! I was under the impression that it was about 6-8 weeks old.....Looks like he will be headed back to the hatchery.... He hasn't exhibited any signs of being a roo as of yet.. The rest of my flock chase him around and he runs as fast as he can to get away from them. The thing that really stinks is he is the only one I have that has figured out how to put himself to bed. I have to go out every night and put the other 9 in the hen house and close the door....I guess that is a whole new posts though....Thanks for your help..

Ok, so since I am very new to this can you please tell me how you know this is a roo? What am I missing besides years of experience?

Thanks,
Brittany

At 6-8 weeks of age a hen would have a lighter/paler comb. Roos at that age have tall Red combs.
