I am a 24 year old single mother of two DD. They are 2 and half and 16 months. I could really use some ideas on what to do with them in the house on rainy days. My girls love to be outside with the chickens and the dogs, so if its cold and rainy they have stay inside my house looks like a tornado went throw it. I some times will put a movie in for them but that is not working any more so if some one could PLEASE HELP ME! It would be really great I feel like pulling my hair out all the time.

So any idea no matter how small would be really great. Thanks.

That's a hard one, my niece and nephew just left and they are 28 and 10 months. Even with three adults here to help out it was still a bit crazy.

I would keep a rainy day box full of goodies and toys they hadnt seen before for my kids. play doh and flash cards, tea sets and stuff like that..trick is to not let them intergrate those items into daily used toys so they remain "new" to them.

EVERYTHING is always better in a fort/tent. Always. Put a sheet over a few chairs or the table, let them camp under there.

It's getting into spring rain. If it's not too cold out, I let them go out and play in the rain and mud. They LOVE it. Makes them happy, they are tired and don't mind a bath then, and go to bed.

hi,
if you have the space in the house, bring in the ride-on toys.
thats what we do. we have 2 kids, 5 and 3 year olds. i bring the red cozy coops in the house. clean the tires up etc. its fun!

we also play boardgames together. watch a disney movie.

play (husbands old ninetendo 64) games

It's always going to be a bit crazy when you have kids that age. Video choices that are great are the Disney sing alongs. The kids will love the songs and start dancing and singing (even if it's just gibberish) it's so cute. Toys, toys, and more toys. Ones that are just for inside. Bring in the outside ones. We had the playschool car and teeter totter in the house several times. And if you have a tile floor blow bubbles then clean up when done. Tea sets, kitchen toys.... whatever.

Books and more books, blocks and more blocks. And only one type of type out at a time--it's never too early to teach them to put things away--especially if you make it into a game.
