My 6 months old rooster is very very lethargic his eyes are closed. I separated him from the rest gave him some scramble for about a few seconds he gets up eat like crazy and then stops and falls a sleep again. For time to time he drinks lots of water and goes sleep again. His back is a little dirty for about 5 days but now he is only pooping water. Other hens of my flock had presented this in the past and none recover. He is been deworm regularly for both coccidia and other type of worms.

What is your general location in the world? How old is he, and is he the only rooster in your flock? What do you feed him? Is he drinking plenty of water? I would mix some of his chicken feed with a lot of water to make a mushy consistency to get more fluids into him. What does his poop look like?

We are in Florida. He is 6 months old he is the only rooster feed is Purina layena crumble mixed with Nutrena layer pellets. He is drinking water sometimes for a few seconds drinks a lot and gets very tired and stops same with the feed. His poop is just water. His butt is kind of dirty but not that much.

Could the hens be keeping him from feeding? Is he new to them? Flock raiser has a bit more protein and less calcium which may be hard on roosters. I would mix a small amount of feed with some water, and add a little egg. Keep adding water if it thickens, and make it fresh daily. Some vitamin/electrolytes and rescue drops such as Poultry NutriDrench or Poultry Cell can be helpful.
