hubby bought bags of brown sand to make a dust bath with.. we have huge amounts of snow here, it will be fine out under the coop but really cold and breezy or is it ok to put into a coop.. i will be adding DE to it.. will the dust bother them to breathe inside a container in the coop or should i put the container outside under the coop, thank you

Either way, in or out will work. Also, either way, I'd put it in a container of some sort rather than just lay it on the ground or on the floor of the coop. I use a large round planter base (@24 inches)...got it for less than $5.00 at Home Depot. They also sell plastic trays that are used under washers that could be used. Or you could just build a wooden tray??? I have used mine in the coop before, and the dust was no worse than it is now. However, mine is outside now, and they'll get in it on warmer days (@40 degrees). Good luck!
