I realized that my order didn't cone with my rooster. No big deal things get over looked. So our local TS has chicks. If they have a rooster I'm thinking about getting one. My chicks are only 5 days old. Will this be a big issues adding this one baby in with my other babies since they have not been to gather the entire time?? Any advice?? I know they got their chick in the same day I got mine so he will be the same age.

I was wondering the same thing. I have 6 chicks now, but wasn't able to get the Barred Rocks I wanted, so am wondering if it is okay to add to the week and a half old chicks....

With our first group, we picked out 3 pullets from the pullet bin. We didn't think we had a rooster until about 6 weeks in. And then Penny started looking suspicious.
Depending on what you ordered, you might have an unintentional rooster. If you don't want to go through the hassle of mixing, you could just wait for them to get older, and see if you're truly lacking.
