Hello my name is Amanda I live in upstate ny. My moscovy duck Daisy, she is about a year old, laid 11 eggs and is sitting g on them around the clock for the past 5 days or so. Can I take some safely and discard so they won't hatch or is it too late? Can some eggs be fertile and some not so fertile? She hadn't mated with Jake the male all that much lately. Please help! Thanks

Well, if you take them away from Daisy they won't hatch without constant heat... They're only 5 days old n it takes 28 days for a duck egg to hatch
you can candle them with a flashlight to see if theres an embryo developing inside or not

thats a great tip shine a flashlight on them to see if embryos are developing or not. I have a feeling most of them are not growing into anything lol being daisy runs away from jake when he wants to mate now. I will check with the flashlight, thanks!
