Ok, I went into the Coop tonight to shut down the doors, do my head count, and just check up on everyone. We have had tons of rain here in Florida this time of year and when I Went into the Coop; There staring back at me, and all around the chickens, were thousands of MOSQUITOS.

Will my chickens be ok? Should I go in and spray OFF into the air around. What should I do? Will they sit and bite them all night and give them bad diseases?

There has to be something I can do!

The mosquitoes were so bad here that I have had to set up a box fan to blow into my chickens' coop/run. It provides a breeze, and mosquitoes don't like wind! Otherwise I don't know what you could do....the chemicals in OFF probably aren't good for chickens, so no, I wouldn't spray that in there.

I hope you find a solution! I think this ridiculous weather is letting the mosquitoes grow to B-52 bomber proportions.

I'll second the box fan idea. Also maybe you could try one of those plug in type bug things if there is power close by. I would be afraid to spray any chemical anything near my chickens.

Thanks for your imput. I just checked on my chickens tonight. They are miserable I think. I keep hearing them step around. I am going to work on getting POWER out to my coop so I can get a box fan.
