Help with my 5 week old duck

Yes I looked all over her feet and there was no sign of bumble foot or even any lesions. I did an epsom salt water soak just to get her feet and legs really cleaned and didn’t see any wounds. There really isn’t any swelling when compared to the other leg. Just the turned in foot. I had been giving her meds orally and my husband is on second shift and hasn’t been home to help me the last two days so I had been putting the med on watermelon pieces and she loves them. Maybe she’s not getting the full dose?
It is possible, she may have also just stumbled and injured herself. Does her leg feel warm at all?

I personally like to administer drugs orally so I know they get the full dosage. Here is how you administer it orally if you choose to.

@HollowOfWisps what do you use for naicin deficiency? I think it was poultry cell. This may be a better option for you.

No it doesn’t feel warm. I have been administering it orally, it was just the past two days that I gave it to her on treats. It does not feel warm. The med I’ve been using is the one pictured below with a tiny 1ml syringe. I guess I will just continue giving this to her orally instead of on treats and see if there is an improvement. I’m not sure what else could be going on since we do not have a poultry vet nearby

What brand/type of feed are they on? Are they inside or outside? Did she drink water right before being put in the tote?
I do prefer to use Poultry Cell because as far as comprehensive supplements go it has the highest dose of niacin along with many other essentials vitamins. Many times when an animal or even people are deficient in one vitamin they are also deficient in others as well. I would also recommend having a duck splint made to correct the pigeon toes. You can find custom ones on Etsy.

They’ve been on nature serve starter grower feed and I just switched to Purina duck pellets. I add 1 tablespoon of bob mills nurtritional yeast per cup of feed. She was only in the tote for about 20 min and I put her back with the other ducks. It seemed she was in more stress being separated so I gave her the 1ml does of b complex and water and put her back with her flock. Is it possible to give 1ml of the b complex twice a day? One in morning and one at night? Or is that too much? I just hate it so much. Shes the only one out of my 5 that is having trouble. I am going to look at the duck splints now. Thank you!!

How is she doing? Sorry for the delay in response. I tried contacting the Nature Serve feed manufacturer to see what the niacin content in their feed was per lb. I know that you switched feeds, but I wanted to see if her deficiency was because she simply required more niacin than the average duck or if the Nature Serve feed wasn't high enough causing depleted levels. They still haven't gotten back to me and I lost this thread, but I wanted to check back in and see how she was.

Thank you so much for checking on that! She’s still walking the same with continued treatments. Other than that she still keeps up with the flock, eats, and still swims in and out of the kiddie pool they have. I tried splinting that leg and it still turned in and caused the other leg to turn in. When feeding the nature serve, I was using brewers yeast 1.5 Tab per cup of feed and when I switched to the purina then I got a nutritional yeast with higher niacin. I knew they needed niacin but not ever having ducks before I just researched until I was comfortable enough to get them and I feel bad because I should have researched better feeds. I just figured since it was a duck starter that it would have had enough niacin plus the brewers yeast added :(

Her leg is still the same. Turned inwards but it’s not slowing her down any. I’ve been giving her continued vitamin b complex injected into watermelon piece everyday so I’m thinking she did something to it. Tried splinting it and it still stayed turned inward.
