The permethrin dusts that I had previously given her (and the others) did work - she doesn't currently have any evidence of lice or mites. I've dusted the coop and run and will do that again before she re-enters. I pulled the trigger and bought the $$ Elector psp so I can mix with water and spray - if I never dust another chicken (and myself in the process) it'll be too soon!
Seems the unusually "severe" molt came right on the heels of recovering from that lice infestation and with compromised immunity, looks like a respiratory infection snuck in right on top of it. Holy cow - chickens really DO hide it well.
She said hello when we took the drapes off the crate this am, so I'm feeling optimistic! Will post again in another couple of days.
