Hello all,

Six months ago I rescued a chick from my grandparents farm, the mother had thrown it out of the nest and with a lot of care I managed to nurse it back to health and called it Peter. Of course, like most chicks it liked to snuggle up to something warm which ended with me having it sleeping on me like this

But currently we are having trouble trying to figure out just what sort of chicken he/she is, at six months of age it does not lay eggs or crow but makes a soft call that sounds like mum until someone comes out to it. Which then leads to many snuggles, it is the most cuddliest chicken I have ever met.

It currently looks like this

If anyone could tell me what breed they think that it could be it would be really awesome, because I am looking at entering it in a show this year and I don't want to stick it in the wrong spot.

Sadly, I don't know my breeds well enough to help you (hopefully someone else can!)
But I wanted to comment on how pretty it is! It reminds me of a Welsommer, but mine are still chicks and they don't look like yours did. Again , I'm no expert, just an attractive bird !

What type of chickens do your grandparents have?

They have bantams, rhode island reds, modern game and Australorp. The problem we have run in to is we don't know which birds created the clutch because my grandparents didn't find the nest until the chicken had abandoned it and they heard Peter calling out. I know for a fact it's not the Australorp rooster as we have them in a separate pen so that they do not cross breed with the other chickens.
