Oh wow!
only ones I've seen that look a little different usually have leg issues also. Does it walk and stand and move around ok?
almost looks like a circulation issue.

Let's see what @casportpony and @Wyorp Rock think.

And :welcome
Hi. Its hopping around everywhere and tries to mingle with other chicks. Its using the ankle to walk... with toes alittle up in the air (if that makes sense) I think the problem may be circulation too... but what should i do?

Have you looked at the whole leg up under the feathers? Nothing wrapped around it anywhere, like a blood vessel dried during hatch or something odd?
I don't think a little massaging could hurt, possibly even an Epsom salt soak. As long as the chick is getting around and using it, i would expect the smaller one to catch up little, but may always be a little smaller. just my guesses...

Hi @MeyMus :frow Welcome To BYC

Good suggestions @WVduckchick
I'm not sure what's going on with the leg.
It looks like the swelling is all the way up to the joint(?) Is there a bubble of fluid or any type of lesion at the hock joint or does it feel like the tendon has slipped out a little?

Provide her with Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) - look at Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, I believe it has B Vitamins. If not, you can crush a human B-Complex vitamin and add it to her feed.

:welcome WOW what was your hatch rate ? average temperature and humidity during incubation ? it looks more like a deformity than a injury .These type things can be caused by cold or hot spots in the incubators or temperature spikes or drops . Maybe masking tape sandals? Although I 've never had much luck with those others have had great success .if it gets weak at all separate it .

I think more like the tendon than bubble... i gave some vitamin E before... I'll try give vitamin B also. Poor little thing. I wish it could just tell me what is wrong! Thank you.
