Welcome to BYC! Can it walk normally?Hi all
I have just hatched some chicks in my incubator and 1 has a large darker in colour foot. I dont know whats wrong with it and if/how i can fix it...
Should i try massage? Should i give vitamins?
Please help!
Its limping around... i haven't seen it eat... but it hatched 3 days ago and still looks ok.Welcome to BYC! Can it walk normally?
Hi. Its hopping around everywhere and tries to mingle with other chicks. Its using the ankle to walk... with toes alittle up in the air (if that makes sense) I think the problem may be circulation too... but what should i do?Oh wow!
only ones I've seen that look a little different usually have leg issues also. Does it walk and stand and move around ok?
almost looks like a circulation issue.
Let's see what @casportpony and @Wyorp Rock think.

Have you looked at the whole leg up under the feathers? Nothing wrapped around it anywhere, like a blood vessel dried during hatch or something odd?Hi. I think more like the tendon than bubble... i gave some vitamin E before... I'll try give vitamin B also. Poor little thing. I wish it could just tell me what is wrong! Thank you.Hi @MeyMusWelcome To BYC
Good suggestions @WVduckchick
I'm not sure what's going on with the leg.
It looks like the swelling is all the way up to the joint(?) Is there a bubble of fluid or any type of lesion at the hock joint or does it feel like the tendon has slipped out a little?
Provide her with Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) - look at Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, I believe it has B Vitamins. If not, you can crush a human B-Complex vitamin and add it to her feed.
