Help With Plants

Uhh I know. I don't like it when the people at the garden centers have no idea about the plants. I just remembered something else....

I had been wanting peafowl for several years and the first day I visited Boo For You my mom and I got to talking to the guy about his peacock. He told us he had more but a friend of his was keeping his others due to dog problems he had at the gardens. He told me this friend, named Monica who was keeping his birds was selling the zoo peafowl and so all from that one visit I was able to find peafowl for sale and got my first pair from Monica thanks to his great help!

At first my mom wasn't sure about us getting the bamboo because I think it is a little pricey depending on the size you get or the variety. It is always hard to pay a good amount for a plant you are not even sure will do well, but after seeing how well the two different kinds of clumping bamboo have done that we bought from him we are convinced that it is worth the price. Some of my favorite kind that I saw there had to have been the blue clumping bamboo. It is extremely tall and big around and it has a slight blue/green chalky look. Probably around the Spring we will re-visit Boo For You. It looks best in the warmer months when all the plants are green, but the bamboo is always beautiful.

Bamboo seems to be pricey anywhere, so I would prefer to buy it somewhere that specializes in bamboo. Plus we've been looking for an excuse to take the grandchildren to the Naval Museum. Thanks for sharing your story. I love to hear how people get started in things. Thanks to your advice on the plants I am already talking to my husband about increasing the size of the pen. As you can imagine, he's really happy about that seeing as the boys have only been in the new pen since New Year's Day. By summer I know he will have it enlarged, god love him. Thanks again MinxFox. All the best for a great year.

Thanks and you will love the Naval Aviation Museum. In middle school we took field trips there every year. They have really cool displays with war relics and there is a story behind all of the planes. Some of them were found at the bottom of the ocean and restored. Don't forget the camera!
