Probably depends on how bad your winter weather is, but as I don't have a roofed run I have various little sheltered feed areas, such as this wood and greenhouse panel structure (you can see food bowls at left and right, the left one isn't a usual location as the slats above would allow water to drip through):Good point...I'm curious where to feed them during winter and rainy days? We plan to put food and water outside, as well. This is my first go-around, so I don't know what to expect...I just know our weather is junky a lot.

Some folks on here have much nicer covered feed areas but I just recycled what we had sitting around. If you have some carpentry skills you can use up some scraps that way.
My waterer is outside to keep moisture and mess out of the coop, so if it snows I do have to shovel a path to it.
