HELP WITH RASPBERRY PLANTS

I prune mine in the spring. There is a very good you tube Video on how to prune them and care for them. It took a couple of years to get mine to produce well and now that I know how to care for them they are producing very well. I will look for the video and try to post a link.
did you do anything during the "couple of years" to your plants? some of mine have grown tall and are starting to sag to the ground covering plants that are next to them. Should I build a trellis or something to hold them up? Thanks

Yes. I would tie them up. I did nothing fancy for my trellis. I just stuck bamboo poles in the ground about 6' apart on opposite angles and tied twine to it than loosely ties the stems the the twine. I can try to take a picture tomorrow so you can see what I did. ( picture is worth a 1000 words) I also just started spreading the wood chips from the bedding in my chicken coop on the soil of my raspberry's instead of in the compost. this has helped hold the moisture a lot and kept them from drying out. since I started doing this they have seemed to yield more, and I found putting the bedding in my compost was too much wood any way.

I have a fence around the plants and tied some wire to two sides and tied the plants up with some string. As I was there I noticed that some of the plants have buds on them. Can this be????????????????????
