We are fairly new to the homestead chicken life. We bought supposedly sexed chicks that were all supposed to be pullets.Well we ended up with around 13 roosters which is not sitting well with our original rooster. I know we have several RIR but several breeds we don’t recognize. Can anyone help identify? Thanks so much for any input.

Where did you buy them? If you got them from a private individual, they might be barnyard mixes, which can be difficult or impossible to figure out for sure.

But if you bought them from Tractor Supply or a similar place, they should be recognizable kinds that are produced by one hatchery or another.

I think you have one Black Sexlink (mostly black/white barred but with some gold in the wings and a few other places.)

At least one of the others looks like a Delaware to me (mostly white, some black in the tail and around the base of the neck, but that black has white bars across it.)

Several of them appear to be mixes rather than pure breeds (Black Sexlink is actually a mix too).

Thank you. I will check out the Delaware
