I am not allowed a rooster where I live. When I purchased these 3 pullets I was told they were hens. And because they were barred rock were easily sexted. One makes a honking noise, but no crowing. I have researched online and looked at a week by week, progression and they look like hens to me.
Anyone out there, can you help me? I am new to chicken raising and if one is a rooster, I will need to rehome him somewhere. I was told they were hatched in May, when I got them I was told they were 8 weeks. So I have had them now for about a month and a half. So I am guessing they are around 13 weeks, based on whatvI was told.
FYI: they have no tail feathers because in the beginning, figuring out pecking order, they were pulling out each other's tail feathers. They do not do it much, but, new ones have not grown back yet. Only one kept 1 tail feather and that is the smallest.
