I can't find the facebook post anymore now, but I do remember that after I posted this, a new reply was posted by someone who said the same thing as some of you: it's a spalding hen.
That sounds very interesting to me, because I live in Israel and I haven't met anyone here who keeps green peafowl. But I have no experience with them so who knows!
Walter was hatched in my incubator from an egg in an abandoned nest. My friend's son brought the eggs to me, the birds live in the grounds of his boarding school. Two eggs hatched but sadly, the second chick was taken by something (dog, fox, jackall).
I'm going to get another bird from the same place, so I will have a good look around there and ask questions.
