Hello! Looking for advice on a sick hen, roughly 2 years of age. She has been inside for about 2 weeks now, had ascites and I had to drain a bunch of fluid from her :(. She seemed weak but felt like she was on the road to recovery. Now she eats/drinks but seems to be losing weight no matter how much she eats or drinks, and she can’t stand up, so she constantly lays on her side. Could this be related to the ascites or something else possibly going on? I’m at a loss and looking for ways to try and help her the best I can! Thank you in advance!

Ascites isn't a disease. It's a symptom of liver disease. Draining abdominal fluid is only a stopgap measure to make a hen more comfortable and extend quality life a bit longer. But eventually, her failing liver will give out. It sounds like that may be happening sooner rather than later with your precious hen.

Hi there and welcome to BYC:welcome
I believe these symptoms are related to the ascites, am not totally sure, but from researching a little it does sound like it is resulting from the ascites.
