Remove food and water for at least 12 hours (separate then without food and water) and check their crops first thing in the am. Crops should empty fully overnight or over a 12 hour period and should be flat. If the crop stays squishy after 12 hours then it’s probably impacted which happens before it turns sour. Sour crop is a yeast infection that happens from the crop being impacted and not allowing the food to empty to the gizzard. It piles up and ferments. But first withhold food and water and see what happens.2 of my chickens have squishy crops and I think its sour crop and there are no poultry vets in my state. What do I do.
