Hello all,

We recently purchased 6 baby chicks and in all the hubbub, forgot to write down what type of chicks they were. Hoping you can help??? I "THINK" that there are 2 Rhode Island Red, 2 Black Australorp and 2 White Rocks. We know the yellow and red chicks were straight run, hens only. The black ones were not sexed but the guy who sold them to us said he was about 95% sure they were hens and not roosters (crossing my fingers.) Can anyone help me figure out what they are???

Here is a pic of one of the black ones at approx 3-4 weeks. As you can see she is no longer all black, LOL.

I see two red sex links (red chicks), two white rocks (white chicks), one barred rock or black sex link male (black chick with white dot on head), and one black sex link female( chick in bottom pic)

That black one with the gold collar is actually a Black Sex Link...that at least you can know is a pullet.

Wow - I wish I knew that much by just a picture! I have to study up! Can I assume they are all hens (praying you say yes!)

If they are sex links, then yes will be pullets. The point of sexlinked chicks is that you can tell the males apart from the females at birth so you can be assured you will be getting hens. Do you have pics of the red ones now? We should be able to tell if they are sexlinks or not. The two white ones will be harder to sex.
