Help! Won Ton Recipes Needed....

bigmike&nan :

Send him back to the store for some ground pork and uncooked baby shrimp or scallops. Make this filling:

1lb ground pork
1/2lb raw bay scallops, chopped very finely
1 carrot grated
1 cup finely shredded and chopped cabbage
1 bunch scallions finely diced
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
2 Tbls rice wine vinegar
2 Tbls soy sauce
pinch red pepper flakes
Salt and Pepper
1/2 Tsp Chinese 5 Spice Powder

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Let chill 1/2 hour. Get yourself 2 pie pans and dust with flour. Take a won ton wrapper and place 1 Tbls of the filling in the center, wet one half of the inside edge with beaten egg, crimp closed and fold over ends. Place in a pie pan with flour. Repeat 11 more times. Place that pie pan in the freezer to setup. Repeat 12 more times in the 2nd pie pan. Place that pan in the freezer. Remove 1st pan and portion 6 to a zipper bag, repeat. Repeat the process until you run out of wrappers or filling.

Later when ready to eat take a heavy skillet (with fitting lid). Heat it smoking hot, add 2 Tbls oil to pan, when oil smokes add 12 pot stickers to pan and brown 3 minutes. Now add 1 cup water or chicken stock to pan and cover. Steam about 8 minutes. Remove lid and let liquid evaporate. Plate and serve with chinese dipping sauce (soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and a splash of garlic chile paste, and 1 scallion finely diced). Enjoy

OOh my! Now THAT sounds soo good, and something we would both really enjoy! I'm making the list now..
Thanks!!

ETA: I dont believe that i've even seenthe baby shrimp in the freezer section with the other bigger/regular shrimp...
The only baby shrimp i have ever seen are the salad shrimp in the cans..

Here's the recipe I posted some time ago for Lobster Pot Stickers, which I went crazy making on my 60th birthday - when I met my wife I still had a couple bags of them and carried them frozen to Jersey with me - believe me they may have sealed the deal when I proposed to her.

This looks soo good, I am so buying Won Ton Wrappers next time I go to the store...

Am dreaming of the scallops, yummy.. Thinking I will cook low and slow, the scallops in a cast iron with real butter first... Thanks for the ideas!!

The smaller wrappers we put just ground sausage and green onion in and deep fry them. Then dip in soy sauce or some dipping sauce.

Are you seeing things RH or am I not seeing things....I see bay scallops in this recipe not baby shrimp. You can get fresh baby shrimp in the fresh seafood section at the store. I call them salad shrimp.

I would make these in the bigger wrappers eggroll size.
