HELP! Wormer or Tylan?

Chickens do sneeze, but what you want to watch for is wet, snotty sneezing, wet coughs, runny or foamy eyes, wheezing or rattling in the chest. And they don't generally carry on like that for several months. They get sick and either get over it or die. So I'm not sure what would be going on with your bird. Many poultry respiratory diseases are indeed viral but what usually kills the bird is the pneumonia and secondary bacterial infections that set in very quickly. That's why antibiotic's are needed in most cases.

All you can do is try and see what works. If you've wormed them and you want to give them a round of antibiotic's after a few days then go ahead and see if you get any improvement.

So I just went down to the coops to feed and to check on everyone. The one hen, you can hear breathe and she is sneezing a lot. Also, when she sneezes she shakes her head. She is still hiccupping some. She is the only hen with these symptoms. What should I do? Please help!

I would stop the worming and go get some water soluable antibiotics with tetracycline in it to put in the water. you can get this at the farm store it comes in a foil type bag/packet

mnferalkitty, did your birds have these symptoms? I'll look for both!
Yes that is how mine started, it just got worse and worse then the egg laying stopped. I had a flock of about 75 free range chickens, some died and the others that didn't I chose to get rid of I just couldn't afford to treat them anymore.

I got some tetracycline (Duramycin) today. I think I'm going to finish the SafeGuard worming and then after a few days I'll give them VetRX. I have one hen who gets these "colds" every few months and then I'll give them VetRX and she'll usually get better. If it doesn't work this time I'll give the Duramycin. Right after their worming session is over, should I give them the VetRX or should I wait?
