Do not use water or wet towels to moisten membrane,
can chill embryo and will dry up fast anyway.
Use coconut oil or antibiotic ointment.

Water will dry up faster. Coconut oil or Vaseline works better. I went through this several times during my last hatch. My last one I almost lost as it pushed out before it should have come out (still active blood vessels). Make sure you have corn starch on hand that’s what saved it’s life.
