Help!!

Tonight putting in my hens i noticed one of my hens I noticed one could hardly walk. She weights more then the rest and her stomach was swollen. And felt like a water ballon. What can I do to help her? She hasn't layed in about 2-3 weeks....

Overweight hens are at risk for developing fatty liver disease. Does she have a lump back by her vent? Do you offer BOSS or suet during winter? Do your girls have access to free ranging?

You can aspirate the fluid in her abdomen with a syringe minus the stopper. YouTube a video on where to insert the needle.

Doing this will only prolong her life, but it's not a cure. *If* it is fatty liver disease, there's not really anything to be done.

She has no feathers by her vent. I think she's egg bound.

I am unsure if an egg-bound chicken could survive for 2-3 weeks. :/

When was the last time you wormed your flock? What are her poops like? Is she eating and drinking?
