My friends mom found her 2nd last duck in a tree today, just the head and spine attatched, is that from a hawk? A hawk got a few of her chickens before. Is there anyway to keep the hawk away? I read somewhere about hanging CDs from trees?

hanging cds might not work.. plus scare tactics will only work if you move them around so often.. which can be a hassle

you have to build a run or use bird netting to established a secure space that your chickens can roam around

provide spaces where they can hide or get a rooster (if allowed)-- it will protect the hens

preventive measures are needed..
