It didn't make it

I kept my eye on it and it was fine. It must of kicked out or something and tore the membrane and bled to death. I'm so devastated

I am so sorry. Don't give up. You are not the only one to struggle while learning to hatch.

I can't give up just yet I still have 9 duck eggs hatching next week so fingers crossed that goes well. Thankyou for your advice though I guess there was nothing that could of been done x

I've never known stress like it

I expect it gets easier in time as this is my first hatch the whole 21 days I've been nervous!

Moisten it put it back, and get your humidity up. You don't want to do anything else if the veins are not gone it is not ready.
There is a section on assisted hatching which you essentially started on the first page of Sally's Incubating thread. If you go there you can read about what you started unintentionally. Hopefully Banti stops in soon.
