hey guys

I used to have TWO gorgeous ducks, however 4 days ago one of them very sadly passed away! They’re only young....
Now we are really scared simba (who is now alone) it’s going to be really depressed and lonely.

We are giving him lots of cuddles and kisses but I just feel so bad !

Is buying another duck to keep him company a good idea or is there any chance they won’t get along?

Thanks :)

There’s always a chance they won’t get along, but if you introduce them gradually they should be fine. Perhaps start with the new duck in a wire dog kennel in Simbas area so they can see and interact with each other but no way of hurting anyone. Then maybe have two people to hold the ducks near each other and when you feel comfortable set them down but have both people ready to interfere if needed. Ducks are companion animals and I believe that another friend would be a good thing!

If you don’t mind me asking, what happened to your other duck? I am sorry for your loss.:hugs

Thanks guys:)

& Nala was the famale duck she was so strong and always the leader! We think she might have either choked or broken her neck.. she was playing fine but then we saw her laying by the bond in a really awkward position:(

Ducks need the interaction of another Duck they are flock Birds..You can use a look no touch pen the first couple of days...Then I let them loose together as they free range..Of course their is a bit of neck tying and maybe a chase?..Never really a problem introducing Ducks..
Put out extra water bowls and feed...
