One of my 3 day old baby chickens won’t stop opening its mouth!! It keeps opening and pushing its tounge forwards then closing and it won’t stop. I’ve already tried to put some olive oil in its mouth but that didn’t seem to do anything and apparently it was doing this a couple of days ago but then it stopped so I don’t know what to do...
Please help!

Have you checked in it's mouth if something maybe caught? What are you feeding? What is the flooring of your brooder?

The floor is straw and I’m feeding it pellets that I use for the older chickens but I wet the pellets because they are too big for the babies too eat (that could be a problem, but I don’t know because the other babies are fine) and I don’t know about it’s mouth because I don’t have a normal chicken mouth to compare it to because I can’t get the other mouths openand the baby feels lighter than the others

The heat lamp maybe making it too hot, can the chicks move away from the light if they get over heated?

It's good that you smash or wet down the pellets, what kind of pellets? Feed for laying hens has extra calcium in it which in the long run causes kidney problems for chicks & Roosters.

What are you using for the floor, looks like straw, is it possible it got a piece stuck in it's throat? Are you able to get shavings?

EDITED: Ok, temp seems to be good so my next thought would really be it's got something stuck in it's mouth or throat.

I can’t see anything and when i gave it some water I did a really scratchy cheep but it isn’t walking around like the rest and it isn’t eating
