I have a question? I am new to raising chickens. Everyone told me they are very easy, but I am having a hard time with them. I have 5 golden comets that are about 14 weeks old. One chicken is not acting right she seems very tired all the time will fall asleep standing, she is not eating or drinking like she use to. She is not losing any weight tho she is one of my biggest hens. She also has this big lump on her neck, it's almost like she has no neck. I almost think I am over feeding them also. I am so confused!!!

Do you have any pictures of the lump on her neck? She may be sick. Although I can't tell you what it may have because I'm not familiar with most of the sicknesses that chickens can get.

This is what I am talking about. Am I just looking to much into it or does this look like something is wrong with her?

That looks like her crop and possible it's impacted. Do they eat anything besides feed?

The crop is a thin bag where the food is held. They eat grit, sand etc to grind up the food so the crop can empty. Possibly she has something stuck and it won't empty. Do you smell anything fowl near her mouth?
That would mean sour crop. You can give her some small lumps of coconut oil in her beak, and then gently massage the car to break up any obstruction.

I only give her layer pellets and she has had watermelon now. I never clipped her beak it was like that when I got her. I have only had her for about a month so i am new to all this. She has been eating and drinking more today. I felt where that lump is and to me just feels hard like a bone.
