my young khaki campbell drake chocolate fudge cake has a bad limp it started a few weeks ago with what appeared to be a bee sting a slight swelling that subsided over night but over the next few days i noticed him having a swollen ankle after close inspection i came to the conclusion that it was just a sprain of sorts and it would come right on its own. but it didn't and then the skin on his foot began to peel after extensive research i rubbed his foot with aloe vera leaves and soaked it in water it seemed to go away but now his foot is peeling again and he wont put any waight on his fooot and iam begining to worry now.
a vet is not an option
i live in new zeland
my drake is 3 months old
i have treated with aloe vera and soaking
he lives in a large orchard with a pond

Possible infection in the ankle. You can try to soak the foot in Epsom salt. Might need antibiotics.

Could there be anything living in the pond that may have bitten him and is poisonous ? Like cr said warm Epsom salt soaks may help. How is he other wise eating drinking acting normal other wise?
