Help!

I've had my chickens for about a year. One of the Chickens looks like it's molting but from what I've read seems late in the year. The other weird part only seems to be around her neck. Is she molting or could it be something else.

If she will let you pick her up give her a good exam for any evidence of lice or mites, then gently use your fingertips to brush her feathers in the opposite direction. Especially look on her tummy, under her wings and around her vent. If she is molting you will see pinfeathers not only around her neck where she looks kind of bare but in other spots as well.

Finally was able to catch her a while back and look at it. I feel so stupid. They like to sit up in a pine tree and that is pine sap on her.
