My 5 year old chicken has been malting recently but yesterday I found that it looks like she is taking her feathers out unnaturally. She has been acting the same but I am still very worried about her. When I pick her up she feels very boney. And when I used to pick her up she didn't mind but now she bucks like she is in pain.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ON EARTH TO DO! Please help me!
Thanks for the feedback,

What do her droppings look like? Any green splotches, diarrhea? Any possible blood?
Is her feet inflated? Any discharge from the nose?
Does she have glossy eyes? Any inflammation in the abdomen or eye?
Does she have any lice mites? Is there any living in her ear?
How long has she been molting? Can she stand easly? Does she eat and drink?

She had diarrhoea with green splotches she can walk fine has been eating less but still eats no discharge form the nose she may have mites on her feet but I don't thinks so she has been molting for about 2 weeks I have no head if she has mites in the ear.
ok I thinks thats all

Hi @CE -4545
Could you post pics of her poop please?
I suspect she is just going through a molt which causes them to hurt when lifted up (hense the bucking). It can also cause weight loss. Ah the feathers come loose it is normal for her to preen them out but if she is plucking them and eating them she is most likely looking for extra protein. To help her along with her molt I would give her some high protein treats, but make sure she is eating her own complete chicken feed also. For treats, cooked egg, plain yogurt or tuna are all good options. A round of poultry nutrients wouldn't hurt either.
She has scaly leg mites on her lets so to get rid of those soak her legs in warm water to soften those lifted scales, then slather them with an oil - vaseline will work fine or if unavailable to you, any oil you have on hand will work. This will need to be done a couple of times a week until you see new scales begin to grow in.
