You have 2 or 3 roosters? How old?I have 8 hens the 2 roosters are immature she laid an egg few days ago ill check her crop and abdomen
So the sour smell is coming from her vent?I checked up on her she seems poofed up just sits on the roost doesnt want to eat still but drinks water shes not droopy yet i also checked her crop its not full its soft i gave it a massage i checked her abdomen it doesnt seem swollen and her vent doesnt seem to have an egg stuck in her but i smelled her i smelled a foul sour smell on her not coming from her mouth arounnd her neck area the smell is also around her vent is a little dirty like a little stain or so herez pics of here and my roosters today
I would check the crop again, a crop can be sour even if it's emptying though - this means that it has become yeasty - that could be from the other end too (vent) so check her over really good and investigate. If the smell is coming from both ends then treat as sour crop and vent gleet.Thank u i read all the articles idk it might be sour crop her crop isnt full its small soft and squishy ill check her again in the morning and see what happens the things that sucks is im in israel west bank there are no vets only a few i have to ask around and my arabic isnt really good lol
Hopefully ill double check and ask around but im pretty sure its not vent gleet ill verify tommorow and keep u updated it is really humid in the coop but i give it good ventilation and clean up any droppings im gonna do a coop cleaning this week since the bedding is sorta damp im just waiting till fridayitll be 80 degrees hopefully i did put long peices of dried straw from the grasses and put it in the nests i caught one chicken eating long peices lol but ill investigate moreI would check the crop again, a crop can be sour even if it's emptying though - this means that it has become yeasty - that could be from the other end too (vent) so check her over really good and investigate. I'm sure even in Israel you should be about to find something that contains Miconazole - that is the ingredient in women's vaginal yeast cream - you can put that on the vent and also feed it to your hen (read the links I gave you).
