Thanks. I just dusted her, she must be feeling better cause she struggled a bit...previously, she didn't struggle at all. I'll look for feather fixer.

I just palpated her abdomen again, no longer has a lump. She seems fairly happy now, clucking and all...
I put the frozen coconut oil out for her.
If you can get photos that would be great.

Chickens are very good at hiding illness, so I would monitor the crop for several days to make sure it's emptying.
Interesting about the lump being gone, she may have laid internally and the egg moved to a position that is more comfortable for her.

I would see that she's eating her normal feed. If she's molting, then I would give her a direct dose of poultry vitamins 2X a week and increase protein by using chick starter/flock raiser or give her some egg, fish or meat.

She seems ok for now. I am keeping her inside again tonight. No eggs, pretty good size poops, somewhat runny looking. Am going to offer some tuna tonight and get chick feed, vitamins and feather fixer tomorrow.
I appreciate your advice!

I get at least 2 samples, and have fecals done. You mentioned they are all bony. Considering all the information, I'd highly suspect worms.

She's almost back to normal. Dosed her with B12 and will put some in the common water for the rest (only have 5). Have a mixture of chick crumbles, feather fixer and 16% organic layer pellets. Removing all treats. I have been mixing layer pellets, whole corn, sunflower seed and whole oats. Going to stop that to see if they will out and more importantly, that my ailing hen recuperates fully. Poop has a bit of a green tinge to it. I will also mix in diatomaceous earth with the feed. PS. She still hasn't laid anything that resembles an egg.

Oh, forgot that I also mix grit and oyster shell into the feed. I also have a mixture of grit and oyster shell in a separate container that they can have at will.
