Help!

Shes around 3 years shes been off laying over the winter but dont know whether shes coming to the end of laying she has passed a few soft shell eggs in the past few weeks. Shes been getting the same pellets for years now and never really been a problem until the past few days it seemed to be when i put in the rooster booster it put her off them and today all shes ate is some peas and a little sweetcorn she seems sleepy like i say do you think she might be lonely and bored for being in the house for so long ??

She definitely feels bored and lonely away from her flock-mates. What about some outside play-time with her sister and boyfriend? (No mounting!)

I was just going to say should i try putting her out tomorrow as night now and let her see the other duck for a few hours I'll bring the drake in he loves my daughter so he will be pleased to come in for cuddles lol. Shes just laid by her bowls like you say, she will chirp at me when i go and see her but i could cry when she looks so sad i was thinking seeing the other duck might perk her up a little bit, i have a pen filled with straw so i can just put them both in there so she not walking too much do you think thats the best idea??

Im in the UK and its hard to find some things i asked at a farm store last week but he had nothing to help her, some people have a different outlook and think its only a duck and would be easier to cull which is not an option in my eyes shes part of the family and aslong as shes trying to get on im going to do everything i can to help her, we have fought bumblefoot for 5 months and finally looks like we have seen the back of that horrible infection which is great. I bought the rooster booster offline but like i say it hasnt gone down well and she wont eat it. Vets around here are useless aswell already had her to a farm vet with the bumblefoot and he had no clue what he was talking about and he decided to cut the foot which led to the infection going right up almost in her leg this vet was suppose to specialise in poultry too !!!! He said he could not see any infection and put her on antibiotics stupidly i took his advice at the time and put her back outside and just gave her the antibiotics within a few months she was very ill and the bumble was huge that is when we brought her in the house to treat her.

Bless your heart. Can you order animal products on line? Or buy human vitamins? Human b complex can be used too. It’s awesome you have gone through so much with your duck to get her well. If you would put your county in you info that helps us so much when we give out info. Knowing where a member is.

I'll update my info im pleased you have given me some advice iv been waiting for advice for weeks from someone on a facebook site. She still not eating her pellets but still eating peas lol i think she could be spoilt. Im going to take the other members advice and put her out for a few hours day with the other duck when get in from work because i think she might be feeling lonely

If you can let her visit where she can’t run and hurt herself getting to visit her flock will be a good idea!

Yeh we have a pen with straw on the bottom so I'll just put them in there just for a few hours a day and i'll keep an eye on her
