It does take time. Hopefully she’ll pace herself. My Runner drake was limping 2 days last week only thing I did was closed up the upper part of the property to keep him from running down the hill at 90 miles an hr. He’s doing fine now. Hopefully Violet will be 100% very soon!
Hopefully 🤞 think the fact of her been heavy is not helping. Shes seems to be pacing herself im just keeping them in the pen for now till she improves a little just incase they leave her and she runs after them. She just pinched abit watermelon she moved quick to get away with that haha. I was looking and some people say it could take months to heal properly its coming up 3 weeks since the injury

Your doing right by keeping them up so she doesn't over do. That's the important part of getting her to heal. It can take months. Hopefully it won't. I'd def use the liquid B complex or Nutritional yeast since I think it really helps to strengthen the leg muscles.

I'll see if i can get her some is the nutritional yeast a one for us or for animals iv heard of brewers yeast but some say not to give it to ducks. Like i say she will get up for a minute or two then lay back down so dont think she's over doing it

I like using NY for support but if one has an injury then the liquid B complex is much better. Just put 1 ml over a yummy treat and let her pig out.
I read somewhere that liver is good to give them

Thankyou for your help you have been great❤, just had her in the bath with pip lol shes back out now though think she was getting worried thinking she was stopping in the house🤣 iv noticed when she walks slowly the limp doesnt seem as bad its when she gets abit panicky and walks faster she seems to stumble more

I’ve never given mine liver. I’d research that first. Hopefully she’ll pace herself and give it time to heal.
Just a little update on violet. Still very limpy and unstable when walking but she seems to be putting all her weight on the foot now when standing. She has been full of energy this morning and very cheeky, i havnt been letting her go in the outside pool just uncase she hurts her leg even more but iv been standing and letting the other two go in well this morning violet decided to dive in she was so quick i didnt get chance to stop her so i lifted her back out, i thought you can all go in the pen now after that lol and theres a washing up dish in the pen which i fill up so they can stick their heads to clean there nostrils, anyway looked out the bedroom window and she was fully in the dish so i ran down and got her out she did this another twice till i took the dish out the pen 🤣 shes laid down now thankfully😂💜

lol she sounds ver cheeky, that’s awesome news. Sounds like she’s making progress and that’s great to hear just don’t let her over do. Thanks for the update!

Im trying lol😂 shes been sleeping since so think shes tired herself out haha its the most activity shes done for a long while. Shes so much brighter and happier outside and eating is back to normal now

That’s awesome. You’ve done a great job with her and TLC goes a long way. Just don’t make the mistake I did, my little Runner stopped limping so I let her out and yep you guessed it back to limping again so it took another week. Total of close to a month for her to be back to normal. But she’s fine now.
