ok so if i were to go to tractor supply (minimum is 6 chicks right?) and wanted to get 5 pullets out of 1 bin and a different chick out of another would i be able to do that? or would i have to get 6 of each? also can your 6 be 4 chicks and 2 ducks?

Different bins, YES!

ducks +chickens =6: not positive, but seems likely to be ok.

I don't buy from TSC but I do believe you should be able to mix ducklings and chicks to get the minimum number. Call up there and ask. Report back here so others know.

It´s never a good idea to mix ducklings with small chicks because ducklings tend to over moist the bed and small chicks loose to much heat;ducklings are also more resistant to most diseases they don´t get seek but they transmit the disease...together only when adults...sorry...

i would keep them seperately, i just do not want to buy 6 chickens so i wanted to know if the ducklings would count as part of the six minimum

I had that exact same plan and I called and they said I could do it but when I got there the lady laughed and said that you can’t mix them and had to get 6 of each.
