Also the chick hatched that really lively had been hatched for 30hrs now...should I remove her...shell be needing a drink?? Oh gawd....I don’t know what to do....any help much appreciated...Chris xxx

Oh my god, I'm so sorry! That sounds horrific! I don't really know anything on this (because I'm a complete newbie), but I do know you can have late hatchers, sometimes up to 4 days! Your hatched healthy chick will be fine for up to 3 days in the incubator without food or water as they last of the remaining yolk they absorbed in the egg (how they can ship them in america). But you can definitely take her out and put her in a brooder if you like, and it sounds like you'll need to open the incubator anyways to try and rescue the amputee. I would definitely try to save the bleeding chick, as I've read some amazing stories on this site of people saving chicks that have hatched wrong, early etc.

I did a quick web search and there are some videos and articles about emergency chicken amputations, where they've had to remove the leg in the field and cared for after. Maybe you can try that. You could try to tourniquet and antiseptic the leg, to stop the bleeding and prevent infection. Also keeping her warm would be really important as she's lost blood.

After opening the incubator put a sterile soaked sponge or cloth inside to raise the humidity back up for the other eggs.

Hoped this helped, and I really am a complete newbie (this is based on research not experience), hopefully they'll be some experts to help soon!

Good luck :hugs:fl

Thank you for you reply....it seems to have stopped bleeding and that a little leg has appeared, she seems to be moving around ok so here’s hoping 🙏🏻
I think we will give the good chick another 12 hour and then the second(if survived) when fluffy can come out at same time,
Will also go with the cloth advice...many thanks xxx
