help?!?!

What do I think? Not a clue as to the gender, but I can tell you that it's sure pretty.
Look at that smile... that smile is so cute....
The perfect face to hide its plotting thoughts behind....

Bill color is not a reliable indication of gender, I've had a few males with female colored bills and vice versa.
how about white “spots” on her stomach? i don’t know if that’s just a khaki thing though

Those look like females to me. There's an article on wikihow about sexing them though. Maybe ask your mom why she doesn't want them. If you do end up getting a dog though (hopefully while still having ducks) i would check out Zak George for training. Keep us updated

do you know how to introduce ducks to dogs? we are (hoping) to get a border collie/australia shepherd mix puppy and i’m worried it’ll hurt them
I've never had ducks before, but the way I would do it is to first let them see each other though a fence or window. This way they can see each other without being able to possibly hurt each other. Be sure to give lots of positive reinforcement. Give both the puppy and ducks treats. Then, you could have a blanket or towel (or even a t-shirt) that was touching the ducks, and then the puppy sniff it and get used to their scent. After doing this on a regular basis, you can put the puppy on a leash and let them come up to each other. Don't punish the dog if he/she barks or lunges. Just say 'no' and try again. When you get the behavior you like, be sure to give him/her lots of treats and praise. If you have any other questions on puppy training just ask! I'd love to help
