We are so worried. Our poor baby Ginger is not growing and there is a new tumor looking thing coming out of her butt! She is still pooping, pic attached. She and her sister Cocoa are about 6 weeks old.Ginger is a Bielefelder breed. She should be similar size to Cocoa who is an olive egger but she is about 1/2 her size. Anyone have an idea of what this could be?!?

That is a prolapsed vent (cloaca.) Isolate her from other chickens in a wire dog crate away from any flies. She can be soaked in a pan of warm Epsom salts, or soapy water. Keep it clean after she passes droppings. Always keep it moist until you are able to push the red prolapsed cloaca back inside. It may come out with pooping or laying an egg. Oh just saw that she is only 6 weeks old. She may have been constipated which could have caused this. Honey, hydrocortisone cream, vaseline, or a similar oil can be applied to the vent to keep it moist. Honey can reduce swelling.
