So I have a flock of about 40 chickens after I just added like 5. Suddenly two or three of my chickens have gotten a sort of infection or something. They have a swollen eye or even both eyes that look a bit watery. No sneezing or anything else though. It did rain a lot recently, so there is a chance they ate bad food while I was away on a trip. It doesn’t seem like it is contagious, but there is a chance it could be. All the new hens had clear eyes and a clean bill of health when I got them

Okay.

Okay, so I went back to check on the chickens with swollen eyes and to take some better pics of the ones I know have it and it has almost completely cleared up in one of my hens. This only started about 2 days ago

I don’t know what this is because I’m not too familiar with chicken health but more than likely this is something contagious, sometimes different individuals can react to illnesses with differing intensity so it might be wise to be proactive and try to figure out what it is, maybe get some vet tests done to figure out what’s going on.

So far all the chickens that had it have gotten better as soon as we stitched their food. Apparently their feed got a little wet while we had a sitter caring for our animals when we were on vacay. We were just worried bc no one was laying and a few of them looked sick when we got back. Thankfully all of them are okay. We think it was just the feed
