I'm new to chickens and have made it almost 2 years with no illnesses.
But over a month I've lost two of my young ones. They are around 9 months old.
First one I noticed nothing wrong with her in the days leading up to when I found her deceased in the coop. Second one I noticed was fluffed up but no sneezing, coughing, gasping for air, or bubbling from nose/mouth/eyes. Her comb still had good color to it. (See pictures attached) Found her in the run yesterday deceased. Then I started looking around and saw another of the 9 month olds looking very pale (comb and wattles). She was a little puffed up but seemed to pull her feathers back down smooth. I heard her sneeze twice yesterday but it was back to back and then I heard nothing else from her.
What do you think I'm dealing with and what do I need to do?
I've never had sick birds and I don't want to loose anymore of my flock.
please help!
Below is pictured the Prairie BlueBell that passed yesterday. These pictures are from Monday 11/7 she passed 11/8.
The Starlight agreed Egger (Snow) is the one I'm worried about now. You can see how pale she looks yesterday (close up picture) versus today the far away picture. (Also the stuff she is standing by is not in use. They have a hanging waterer that if washed and filled every 2-3 days. And their food is hanging in their coop.)
