I am really curious what these two youngsters are. Photos will tell for sure.

Cockerels?
Keep in mind that some people who can’t have or don’t want cockerels , hope to give them a live elsewhere without the trouble of rehoming them.
Do you want to keep cockerels?

Pullets?
Maybe a wonderful unexpected gift from a farmer nearby? Make a coop with a closed run, rebuild (part of) a shed or buy a coop with run meant for at least 6 chickens (spacewise). Catch them in the dark. And lock them in for at least a few weeks before you free range them.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

You will need to build an open air coop to keep them properly housed in your hot climate.

The best way to acclimate them to you is to sit on the ground and be still with some food either on your lap or in your hand. Just sit and occupy yourself with something and let them come to you but don't reach out and try to touch them initially. That will scare them off. Move slowly so you don't appear to be a threat.

Good luck with your new flock.

Hello, and welcome to BYC>
Welcome! First, they can easily be caught while they're roosting at night. Second, they'll get all the vitamins they need from a good chicken feed - I recommend an all flock with 20% protein. Third, I'd get a coop with an enclosed run to keep them contained. You can find ideas in the coop and run section of the forums. I would not advise getting a prefab coop as they're usually, too small, too expensive and have too little ventilation. You want at least 4 square feet of coop space per bird and at least 10 square feet of run space per bird plus 1 square foot of ventilation per bird. These numbers are a bare minimum. it's best to provide more space and ventilation. Since they can obviously fly, I'd cover the run too. Fourth, the only supplements they need are grit and oyster shell - both served on the side free choice. Fifth, you can gain their trust by sitting with them and occasionally tossing them bits of food. No need to force anything, it actually might be helpful to read a book or play on your phone while out there initially
If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
Great advice !

Thanks so much to all of you. I've coped and pasted all your advice and are following through. I have some pics and hope I can get them posted from my phone. Today, the smaller of the two laid down with one wing spread out. The larger one came over and laid right beside her and spread it's wing over the top of the smaller one. I wish I could have gotten a pic, but they went back into the hedge when they saw me.... sigh...
