Seems like one of my babies i think that are maybe a week old max doesnt seem to be eating. seems to drink but wont eat and seems to be exhausted and just crashing and sleeping. is this normal? what can i do or feed it?

Try offering it a raw egg yolk. You could also try warm water and put food in it and see if it will eat the “mush.”

Hopefully this helps!

it only seems to get up for water then crashes back out. and the water has electrolytes and probiotics in it as i was told to keep them on that for a bit. i read something about hard boiled egg didnt see much about raw egg yolk.

Have you tried a hard-boiled egg? Also how long has it been acting like this? I searched up about what was happening with your chick and the raw egg was something that popped up. I have done it before, but I would syringe it down the chicks throat a couple times a day and that helped it a bit, but mine wasn’t drinking either. You would just have to be careful because they are still small.

i havent tried anything yet because i just got them today. i honestly think theyre only a few days old so im just trying to figure it out. he or she was also the last one available of the herd.. i got 1 silver polish and 5 white giants and the silver polish just seems off and or stressed but im just completely unsure. im new to the bird game. but when i got them all they were all up and wild then once i got home and their pin set the polish has just been down and out of it.

Yeah it’s sometimes hard to tell with chicks. I would wait a day or so just because it could very well be stressed, and not have an appetite.

I hope everything goes well!

This one may be younger than the others. When I get day-old chicks (which may actually be three days old after shipping), I immediately dip their beaks in sugar water, then dip their wet beaks in their feed crumbles. Have you tried that? Once they get a taste of their feed, they seem to get an interest in it. If this one is smaller than the others, watch out that it doesn't get trampled.

its smaller but also a different breed. i havent tried that method yet. just been worried. might be younger but im unsure. but when i got them at the store this bird was the one most chirping of them all. then after getting them home and in the pin it has seemed to just bee "sleeping" or "exhausted".. i thought maybe that it got too cold between transport and all. not sure. ill try the beak wet and feed trick and see what happens. im just not trying to over stress it
