I have a chick! First chick of 5 eggs my BO "OPRAH" hatched. It's very cold and will be for the next week (to single digits at night and hight of 20's to 30's during the day). I am worried that it will not be warm enough if I let them stay in the chicken house. It is not insulated and despite having a heat lamp, our rooster's comb still got frost bite this winter.
So...do I bring in the chick?

She will be keeping the new chick very close to her- usually nearly under her. She will also be leading her to the food and water. And still be acting like a broody- staying close to the nest, and being protective.
