The chickens are NOT acting like themselves today! I just think it is the heat cause it is the first HOT day, but I'm not completely sure. How are some ways that you keep your chickens cool? it is close to 90* here, but it will get hotter. like 102 or 103ish.

You can add electrolytes to their water. Ice cubes in water mine love frozen watermelon, plenty of shade .

Spray down the area that they are in with a hose. They will play in the puddles and cool themselves off.

I have a huge bush that mine like to hang under in the heat. I spray under it thoroughly every morning to give them a place to stay cool!

You could put a fan out there on an extention cord.

I have a Cobra free standing mister thingy that attaches to the hose - in triple digit weather, the mist evaporates before soaking the coop but keeps it cooler. Here's pic - the girl was not included. It cost about $15 and I got it initially to mist my patio plants, but like everything else, if the chickens can use it, it's theirs!
