Help!

my chickens are eating thier eggs , they have enough food and water ..

what can cause them to eat thier eggs ..

Usually it's lack of protein in their diet...or they were fortunate enough to find a cracked few and learn it's good food. One can try dry cat food treats (usually 30% protein) boredom too prolly can play part in the problem.

It can be a really tough situation because the egg eaters are teaching the other their bad habits.

Some are relentless and need to be culled.....hanging a curtain over the front of the nests works great. Simply make a slit for entrance....egg eater can't eat eggs they can't see....good luck!

I've heard of people drilling a tiny hole inside of an egg and injecting hot sauce into it to break them.

Problem is...it doesn't help at all....

Can also try to put some fake eggs or golf balls in the nests, hard to eat those and they'll get discouraged, gather the real eggs frequently.
