We got them home. Got a makeshift broader for the four hatched. Eggs and hatching egg set in incubator. The hatching egg hatched!!!

hahahaha that is awesome !! do you mind if i ask who or maybe how you got them? im just a little puzzled about why someone would do that. unless they took them out from under the mama because they didnt want anymore?

Well.......I happened upon them by accident. went to the store and someone was giving them.away. said he didnt want to deal with them. If he couldnt get rid of them hed off them.....I sotra gathered theyd been incubsted.

I candled the eggs too. Four left are dark eith the air cell.at bottom. One is mostly a little veiny with a dark spot. I think it may be dead.

it probably is or just not far advanced , you really cant tell because you dont know if it was put in at the same time or not. are you saying the air cell is at the wrong end?? i didnt understand.

The eggs should also be about the same age. There are five left. Four are almost completely dark with a nice air cell at bottom. They seem ready to hatch any day now. The fifth you can still see a lot of light through and a small dark spot. Seems to have stopped developing at some point.

i would toss the bad egg then. im sure its no good. im glad you got to save these babies. the air sac is at the large end.looks like you will be having a new flock in no time !!

ONe baby that had hatched didnt make it through the night. He seemed to have his head all twisted & never opened one of his eyes. He was gone by morning.
I am hoping some, at least one of the eggsa will have pipped today.

We lost the rest of the eggs. Theybwere doing fine . I came in one morning and the bar or was up to 112. Silent chicks.....
